About The Author

Writing, for me, is life—it allows me to create without too many restrictions. I was a Montessori teacher for five years on the Southside of Chicago, later transitioning to teaching special education for roughly 23 years on the far Southside. My early influences included normal sports culture and friends, and I found that mediocrity seemed to work for me. I graduated from Southern Illinois University without honors, but I valued the quality of education I received.
